About the project
The Cantamus Girls Choir staff were struggling to maintain their existing website, built many years ago without a content management system in place. It was also beginning to look quite dated due to no capacity within the team to change the appearance or reorganise the information architecture.
I was asked to produce a site for them which would work well on modern devices and give them the tools they needed to manage it themselves. This would mean that the members of the choir as well as parents, staff and patrons, could get the most out of it and promote the choir positively. Working from graphics provided by their designer an alpha was produced and worked up to an early beta which launched in June 2014.
Using the WordPress platform has given the staff of Cantamus the capacity to update the content with ease whenever they want to. Training was provided to enable them to make full use of the system, along with guidance on content and imagery.
We have since agreed a multi phase approach to the site and will be rolling out more features, template design upgrades and tweaks in the near future. With modest traffic growth since its launch it is expected that over the coming months the Cantamus website to grow as social media and email newsletter campaigns drive more traffic.
